Institute “Dosso Verde”

The Institute of Psychotherapy “Dosso Verde” – located in Via Fasolo n. 1 in Pavia – is a structure that is dedicated to the recovery of minors suffering from generalized development disorders, and disorders of the emotional sphere and behavior since 1962.
The recipients of the service are children whose age may vary from 3 years to 15 years who can’t be taken care of at home and face psychological and sensory disability.
A few years before the Dosso Verde project, Studio A Side had already worked on a similar project for the same client, concerning a building in Milan, located in Corsica street.
Dosso Verde is a four-floor building that hosts classrooms, studios, canteens and services, gyms and a therapeutic swimming pool. Its structure is therefore divided into different levels in a way which fully utilizes the green slope that characterizes the property area.
The result is a building that stretches out its volume as the stem of a ship.
The new Dosso Verde complex is also the subject of an in-depth energy study based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.
This building has the groundbreaking equipment, automated systems for the management of the darkening and lighting system, a passive isolation system studied in detail, solar roofing panels and an independent well for the supply of irrigation water directly from the ground.
