Giovanni Bua - Direction and Coordination
Born in Milano in 1963.
Graduated with honors at Politecnico di Milano writing a theoretical thesis on “design and ergonomics” under the guide of Antonio Grieco, chancellor of the “Work medical Institute – University of Milano”.
After important collaborations with some of the most active Milan architecture firm, such as Maurizio Calzavara, SilvanoTintori, VicoMagistretti, Guido Brighi, he inaugurated his own firm in 1992.
Especially in the early years the Studio was an opportunity for professional growth. The activity was initially focused on interior and furniture design, then growing professionally, he created a laboratory of ideas, movingforward step by step to complex projects.
Following this concept, in 1993 he found in parallel a new company named “Progetti”, which dealt with the executive development of large building businesses.
This experience becomes a vehicle for deepening the construction detail as well as the assignment organization in the field of building construction.
In 1998 his firm took part in the “International Competition for the urban-architectural enhancement of the central area of the Municipality of San Donato Milanese” arriving among the ten best projects.
Since 2006, he has been a founding partner of the “A Side” architecture firm, with the role of technical director.
From 2013 to 2017 he was president of the San Donato Milanese Municipal’ commission of Landscape.

Simona Soldini - Technical Area Manager
Born in Milano in 1968.
She graduated at Politecnico di Milano in 1994 with a thesis about the role of bio-architecture.
From 1995 to 1999she collaborated with various architecture, urban planning and design firms in Milano, such as the architectsE. Lastrico, S. Rolla, P. Bertolotti.
In 2000 she began to collaborate with Giovanni Bua and, when A side Studio was found in 2006, she took part of the team.
After a few years of experience in architectural design, she completed her training by taking care of the construction management in the mostly construction sites of the studio.
She has been a qualified fire prevention professional since 2013.
Since 2014she has acquired skills in the urban building cadastre.
Already in charge of the construction and urban planning area, since 2017 she coordinates all the technical activities of the firm.
Her passion for photography led her to specialize in this technique, following courses and taking part to various workshops.
Simona is an art, travel and architecture lover, she publishes articles in the related magazines.

Alice Baccolo - Creative Manager
Born in Desenzano D / G in 1991.
She graduated with full marks in 2017 by discussing the thesis “TEMPLUM PACIS IN ROME – Proposal for reconstruction and musealization of the terminal front of the ForiImperiali system” with the supervision of her tutor Pier Federico Caliari; in January 2018 the thesis was selected and exhibited at the Triennale museum in Milano.
In 2018she achieved a Master in Museography, Architecture, Archeology: Strategic Design and Innovative Management of Archaeological Heritage with the thesis “BEYOND THE FORM – project for the enhancement of the metamorphosis of the Athens Acropolis” which received the honorable mention.
Together with the WERK Architects studio, the MiAS ARCHITECTS studio, the Escola Tècnica Superior Arquitectura de Barcelona and the School of Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Engineering she collaboratedat the building of a research and design team with the aim of participating at the second edition of the International Call for Project promoted and organized by the Hadrian’s Academy of Architecture and Archeology, on the theme “The Great Villa Adriana – Designing the Unesco Buffer Zone”, receiving an honorable mention.
Since 2018 she has been teaching and doing research activity atPolitecnico di Milano in the field of Museography and Strategic Design of Archaeological Areas with the Professor Pier Federico Caliari, with the role of co-supervisor of the Degree Theses.
In 2019 she qualified for the profession at the Politecnico di Milano and in January 2020 she officially enrolled in the Order of Architects.
She immediately practiced the profession alongside her father in the family technical studio, acquiring directly the necessary knowledge for the management and development of projects from the conceptual to the executive phase.
In 2019 she joined the A Side studio; from 2020 she became the creative manager.
